The scheme, supported by the Government’s Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas (ZEBRA) funding programme included the electrification of Transdev Blazefields Head Quarters in Harrogate. Acting as Principal Contractor, OGL Construction oversaw the supply and installation of 23 duel charging points which will help run the £21 million pound fleet of 39 news buses Transdev Blazefield will be receiving in the next few months.
Transdev managing director, Henri Rohard, said: “We’re pleased to launch our depot and bus electrification project. It is an important evolution in the quality and sustainability of our network in and around our home town of Harrogate. All our bus fleet will be renewed in the process, giving our Harrogate Bus Company the most modern and passenger oriented network. The project has been made possible thanks to the significant support from the Government’s ZEBRA fund.”
In addition to the EV charging hub infrastructure and electrical installation works, the bus depot yard underwent significant refurbishment works.
Due to the successful delivery of this scheme, OGL have secured the infrastructure and civils works for the installation of new and alteration to existing Pantographs at Transdev Bus Station at Station Parade.
