Our People.

At the heart of our company is a commitment to empowering our team for success. To achieve this, we’ve implemented a comprehensive training matrix, ensuring that our team members are consistently improving on their skills. As a testament to our investment in personal growth, we extend financial assistance for driving lessons to our younger team members. This not only promotes their individual independence but also enhances our team’s efficiency, allowing them to reach project sites independently. Regular reviews are conducted to keep everyone on course and to address any evolving needs or aspirations.

Safety is a non-negotiable for us, and we demonstrate this through robust health and safety policies, proudly established in collaboration with Peninsula. Recognising the importance of a supported team, they also help us to ensure that our team receives the comprehensive assistance they require, as our third-party HR provider.

For our self-employed contractors, we’ve streamlined their experience by providing the necessary tools, acknowledging the pivotal role they play in our collective success. By fostering a culture of continuous learning, safety, and comprehensive support, we prioritise the well-being and success of every member of our dynamic team at every level.

Our Community.

We take pride in sponsoring exceptional athletes, such as Charlie Hayfield and Laura Bardsley, whose dedication and achievements inspire us. Additionally, we proudly support the Otliensians Hockey Club, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship within our local community. Our engagement with charities reflects our ethos of giving back. Partnering with Think Mental Health, we recognise the profound impact that mental health can have, particularly within the construction industry. Understanding the importance of this issue, we actively contribute to raising awareness and providing support. Myeloma UK also holds a special place in our hearts, as we share a personal connection through Bob Munro’s journey, a dear family friend.

Our Environment.

At OGL Construction, we strive to build a greener and more sustainable future through a range of conscientious practices. Embracing a paperless office culture, we minimise our ecological footprint by reducing unnecessary paper usage. In our construction projects, we prioritise sustainability by incorporating solar technology into builds, promoting energy-efficient homes with features like ground source heat pumps, and utilising lower carbon concrete. Waste management is a key aspect of our commitment, as we segregate waste into distinct streams such as plasterboard and general waste, ensuring responsible disposal. We have also successfully converted a number of bus depots to electric power, contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions. Encouraging alternative transportation to work, we actively promote cycling to work among our team members. Additionally, our adoption of technology, including the use of iPads and applications like Fieldview, Eque2 and SharePoint, enhances efficiency while minimising our environmental impact.
