OGL Construction was appointed by Ciceley Commercials Ltd to undertake the comprehensive refurbishment of its existing Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealership on Commercial Road, Darwen, as part of the wider programme to introduce the latest Mercedes-Benz corporate identity across the client’s dealership portfolio.

A key requirement of the project was to deliver the refurbishment while allowing the dealership to remain operational throughout the construction programme. Careful phasing, segregation and coordination of the works enabled Ciceley Commercials to continue its day-to-day activities while OGL progressed the refurbishment around the live commercial environment.

The works included the comprehensive refurbishment of the dealership’s customer-facing accommodation, creating an updated front-of-house environment incorporating a new reception area and entrance lobby designed around the latest Mercedes-Benz branding requirements.

Alongside the customer areas, OGL also undertook improvements to the back-of-house and operational facilities, upgrading the existing accommodation to provide a more modern and functional working environment for the dealership team.

Externally, the scheme incorporated the construction of a new service canopy, together with alterations to the existing car park and extensive associated external works. These improvements were carefully coordinated around the vehicle movements and operational requirements of a busy commercial van and truck dealership.

Working collaboratively with Sunderland Peacock, OGL coordinated the refurbishment, internal alterations and external works through to completion, successfully delivering the scheme in just under 16 weeks.

Completed in October 2024, the project provided Ciceley Commercials with a comprehensively upgraded dealership aligned with the latest Mercedes-Benz brand standards while demonstrating OGL’s ability to deliver complex refurbishment works within a live operational commercial environment.
