OGL Construction was appointed by Ciceley Commercials Ltd to deliver the comprehensive refurbishment and extension of its existing commercial vehicle dealership at Peterfield Road, Carlisle, as part of the wider rollout of the latest Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle brand standards across the client’s dealership portfolio.

The project involved the extensive refurbishment of the existing facility, with particular focus on transforming the dealership’s customer-facing areas while simultaneously upgrading its back-of-house and operational accommodation. A key requirement throughout the works was maintaining the day-to-day operation of the dealership, requiring careful phasing, segregation and coordination of construction activities around the live commercial environment.

As part of the redevelopment, OGL delivered a new extension to the existing building, providing additional accommodation and improving the overall functionality of the dealership. The front-of-house areas were comprehensively refurbished, including improvements to the reception and entrance lobby to create a modern customer environment aligned with Mercedes-Benz’s latest corporate identity.

The works extended beyond the building itself and included car park alterations and extensive external works, improving vehicle circulation, access and the presentation of the wider dealership site. These works were carefully coordinated around the specialist requirements of a busy commercial vehicle operation.

OGL worked closely with Sunderland Peacock throughout the project, coordinating the refurbishment, extension, internal alterations and external works while maintaining the dealership’s operational requirements.

The scheme was successfully delivered in just under 32 weeks, providing Ciceley Commercials with a modernised and upgraded facility designed to meet both its operational requirements and the latest Mercedes-Benz dealership standards.
