Yorkshire Coastliner – Bus Depot & Offices

Following the successful completion of the Phase 1 infrastructure works, OGL Construction was appointed to deliver Phase 2 of the new Yorkshire Coastliner bus depot development at Rawcliffe, York.

The project comprised the Design & Build of a new purpose-built three-bay bus depot, creating a modern operational facility designed around the servicing, maintenance and day-to-day management of the Yorkshire Coastliner fleet.

The new building incorporates substantial workshop accommodation, providing dedicated maintenance bays alongside the supporting operational spaces required for the servicing and upkeep of the bus fleet. The facility was designed to provide a practical and durable working environment capable of meeting the demands of commercial passenger transport operations.

Alongside the workshop facilities, the development incorporates new office, staff welfare and training accommodation, bringing the operational and administrative requirements of the depot together within a single purpose-built facility.

Phase 2 followed the extensive enabling and infrastructure package previously delivered by OGL, which included demolition, drainage, utility infrastructure and new external depot yards. This provided an established development platform for the subsequent building works and enabled a coordinated approach to the overall depot development.

OGL managed the Design & Build process through to completion, coordinating the building structure, envelope, internal accommodation and associated services to provide a complete operational facility for Yorkshire Coastliner.

Completed in May 2024, the scheme provides a modern new home for Yorkshire Coastliner’s operations in York and demonstrates OGL’s ability to deliver both the civil engineering infrastructure and subsequent building construction required for a complete transport depot development.

Key Delivery Outcome

Successful Design & Build delivery of a 7,000 sq ft, purpose-built three-bay bus depot, following OGL’s completion of the Phase 1 infrastructure works. The completed development provides integrated workshop, office, staff welfare and training accommodation for Yorkshire Coastliner’s operations in York.
