About Charlie:
Despite being in year 11 at school, Charlie’s dedication and passion for golf have propelled him to become an up-and-coming golf professional.
Charlie’s journey into the world of golf is an interesting one. Initially a talented football player who played for academies such as Leeds, his love for the sport gradually diminished over time. It was at this point that his older brother introduced him to golf. Charlie recalls walking around the golf course with his brother, taking a few shots and unknowingly embarking on a new venture. From those early driving range sessions, Charlie’s passion for golf ignited and has been burning bright ever since!
While he has his sights set on reaching the professional tour level, his ultimate ambition is to compete in the prestigious Masters tournament. As an avid spectator, he finds the masters particularly special and cherishes every moment of watching the tournament. To be able to participate in this event would be a dream come true for him.
Although gold is Charlies primary focus, he maintains a healthy balance between his sporting pursuits and other interests. In addition to playing football with friends, he engages in high-level hockey during the golf off-season to maintain his overall fitness. Furthermore, like any typical teenage boy, Charlie enjoys spending downtime with his friends.
The current season has been a testament to Charlies hard work and dedication. He has consistently played well in various tournaments, showcasing his skills and potential. A notable highlight was finishing 2nd in the Yorkshire Boys Amateur after an impressive first round. While the second round didn’t go as planned due to inexperience in that position, it reaffirmed his ability to compete with some of the best young golfers in the county and country. He looks forward to the Yorkshire Amateur, hoping to end the season on a high.
In recent news, we are thrilled to announce that Charlie has achieved a remarkable feat in his golfing career, winning the Oakdale Golf Club – Club Championship.
As Charlie continues his journey towards becoming a professional golfer, our sponsorship aims to provide him with the necessary support to compete in tournaments. And we will be eagerly cheering him on as he completes each and every single one!
